National Archives

On 26th & 27th February 2019 we are making our annual pilgrimage to the National Archives in London. Our primary interest on this trip are the Operations Record Books of a number of RAF establishments and records of local air raids:

• RAF Northstead GCI station
• Ottercops Moss Chain Home radar station
• RAF Kenton/Blakelaw
• RAF Longbenton
• Bomb census returns
• Bomb damage reports
• Operations Record Books for various RAF Squadrons
• Light and Heavy Anti Aircraft battalion War Diaries

These records, among others we find time to copy, will form the basis of many posts going forward.

Such a pity for us Northerners the archives are so far away.
